About Us

August – September 2008, we witnessed gas prices soar to $4.00 + per gallon. Soon thereafter, Auto sales came to a crashing halt. A flip of a switch thereafter, Lehman Brothers goes bust and the entire U.S. banking system is on the verge of collapse. As Americans and Michiganders – all of us have been affected by these events and the effects, as we know today, are widespread and long range. Our housing market has collapsed, as well as our auto industry as we knew it and its supplier chain. We did not know it then, but we know it now, the good ole days are, as the great Ernie Harwell says, ”Are lonnnnnnng gone!”

We started the Financial Crisis Talk Center on WDFN in November, 2008. We did so because we felt the need to have a forum to voice the concerns and to provide a forum for you, your neighbors, us and our neighbors – the hardworking good people of the United States. Our goal is simple – we want to level the playing field. Since Washington has proven it is subservient to the banks and Wall Street, and the banks and Wall Street have made it clear that they could care less about Detroit and Michigan – we are left to fend for ourselves. The FCTC’s goal is to provide the forum and resources that you need to advance forward in this difficult time and succeed. We encourage you to “Become a FCTC Member” and join in the Discussion Groups. Your voice counts and the more of us that speak out and are heard, the greater goal we can all achieve. So join us, tell your friends and tune in Saturday mornings at 8:30 on the AM dial at 1130 Detroit Sports Talk. Most of all – join us in our goal of leading Michigan back to the great state that it can be.

Sincerely,

The Financial Crisis Talk Center Team
